Product Incident Reporting

The JLG Product Safety & Reliability Department must be notified immediately in all instances where JLG products have been involved in an accident.

Given the importance of the investigation — and depending upon the particular situation
— we recommended the following steps be taken when you initially become aware of an accident:

  1. Immediately notify the JLG Product Safety & Reliability Department of any incident involving one of our products. We will provide further suggestions based on the specifics of the case. Do not wait for complete information before calling us — if necessary, we can travel and be present while you obtain more details.
  2. When an accident is first reported to you, emphasize to the person reporting that the JLG product and all related parts and items must be left undisturbed at the accident site, if at all possible, until JLG personnel are contacted and have determined whether we will make an onsite investigation. Normally, we can be available on 24-hour notice anywhere in the country.
  3. If the JLG product or any of its parts must be moved, or have been moved, before we can be present at the accident scene, take photographs of the product and any pertinent parts, even if it means using a commercial photographer. JLG will reimburse you for the costs incurred.
  4. Be available to us when we arrive so you can assist us in obtaining access to the accident site, and on the investigation.
