Product Modifications & Repairs

Modifications
Any proposed modifications of JLG products must be submitted to the Product Safety & Reliability Department for evaluation and consideration for approval. All requests must be in written (or typed) form and include a completed Product Evaulation Request Form or Electronic Product Evaulation Request with all pertinent information (e.g., machine model, serial number, tolerances, dimensions, etc.) provided. A fee may be charged for evaluating the modification request, depending upon its complexity. The fee is $100 and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The Product Safety & Reliability Department will evaluate each request and submit an appropriate written response to the originator.

Machine Repairs
Machine repairs which involve the welding, machining, or reinforcement of any component must be submitted to the Product Safety & Reliability Department for evaluation and consideration for approval. The submission of photographs of damaged or discrepancy areas are recommended; however, detailed sketches or illustrations may be acceptable in some cases. All requests must be in written (or typed) form and include a completed Production Evaluation Request Form or Electronic Product Evaluation Request with all pertinent information. For most machine repairs, a fee of $100 is charged for the evaluation and development of a repair procedure. The Product Safety & Reliability Department will evaluate each request and submit an appropriate written response to the originator.

The Product Safety & Reliability Department occasionally receives modification or repair requests directly from the end-user or customer who are not authorized servicing entities.  JLG recommends that all requests be directed through local authorized servicing entities.  Use our Distributor Locator to find your local JLG Distributor.

Onsite Evaluation
From time to time, the submission of photographs and detailed descriptions of product damage may not be sufficient for JLG to determine the correct repair procedure. In these cases, we require a JLG Product Safety and Reliability Engineer to conduct an onsite machine evaluation. There is a $475 / day fee (plus expenses) charged for such a machine evaluation. In such cases, JLG Product Safety & Reliability Department personnel will work with you to coordinate travel. A purchase order is required in advance of arrangements.
